A Waxhaw native, Amanda was inspired by her sister with IDD to earn a Master’s in Social Work from UNC Chapel Hill, where she completed a fellowship in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate, Amanda has worked in crisis services, day programs, group homes, and advocacy, with her most valuable experience coming from life alongside friends and family with disabilities. As Program Director, she oversees Cakeable’s Vocational Training Program and is passionate about empowering adults with IDD and their families.
