CAKEABLE ANSWERS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where do I park for the Cakeable Cafe?

There is street parking on North Tryon Street and free garage parking (with validation) in the LAZ Garage, 130 W. 7th Street.

The Cakeable Cafe is a few blocks from Seventh Street Station which is a stop on the light-rail.

Additional parking information can be found here.

Do you have a bakery storefront? Where can I find your baked goods?

The Cakeable Bakery does not have a storefront but you can enjoy delicious Cakeable baked goods at the Cakeable Cafe! The Bakery also supplies baked goods to Julia’s Cafe and Books and the Catalyst Coffee Bars on CPCC campuses. On our Facebook and Instagram pages, we post details about markets and events where our Bakery team sells their products.

You can view our Bakery Menu on our Products page and place a Special Order for our baked goods.

Can I make special orders for baked goods?

Yes, visit our Products page to view our available items and fill out the form to request a Special Order. Please note that we do not make wedding cakes or highly customized cakes or cookies. Also, please note that submission of this form is a request only. We will respond via email to let you know if we can fulfill your special request. We need at least 3 weeks notice as our capacity to accept special orders fills up very quickly!

Where is the bakery program located?

Cakeable’s Bakery training program is housed inside the Sweet Spot Studio in the Oakhurst neighborhood. We rent kitchen space and hours from Sweet Spot for bakery training and production. Please note that this is not a retail location or storefront for our baked goods.

Why are you a nonprofit?

We are a nonprofit because our mission, which is focused on training individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, requires more resources, such as instructors and support staff. Our workforce development program relies on donations as well as revenue. All of our profits, as well as donations, are dedicated to maintaining the highest quality workforce development program for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Are you currently hiring in the Bakery or Cafe?

While we are currently at hiring capacity in both the Bakery and Cafe, we are always accepting applications. We will continually have interns graduating from our programs, and so we will continually be hiring. Please fill out the Bakery application or the Cafe application to be considered for a position at Cakeable. We hope you will join our team!

How can I donate?
