Did you know? 🗓️ THE DATE: World Down Syndrome Day is always celebrated on March 21, because the date (3/21) symbolizes the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. 💪🏽 THE PURPOSE: World Down Syndrome Day was first observed in 2012. The day serves to raise awareness, promote inclusion, and advocate for the rights and well-being of people with Down syndrome.  
🧦 WHAT’S WITH THE SOCKS? Some people wear mismatched or colorful socks to represent the extra chromosome, as chromosomes are shaped like socks when viewed under a microscope.
